Mastercard Europe has recently decided to join the Berlin Group. Mastercard is well known as the international payment scheme and technology company in the global payments industry, connecting consumers, financial institutions, merchants, governments and businesses in more than 210 countries and territories. Mastercard aims to make everyday commerce activities – such as shopping, traveling, running a business and managing finances – easier, more secure and more efficient for everyone. Mastercard Europe firmly believes in open European payment standards and is interested in working closely with other European Payment Schemes and Processors on all prevailing Berlin Group themes. As a first work item, Mastercard Europe joins the NextGenPSD2 Taskforce that works on a detailed PSD2 Access to Account Framework.
